McCabe and Rios Come to Visit TEAM LVS

Lady Vikings Alumni, Allison McCabe ('07) and Alex Rios ('11) came by to visit TEAM LVS. 

McCabe and Rios were stand-out varsity starters for the Lady Vikings during their time at Nolan Catholic both earning 1st Team All-District and All-State Honors throughout their high school career. 

They both continued their soccer careers in college at NCAA Division 1 schools.  McCabe played at the University of Texas - San Antonio from 2007-2009 and is now working full time for a beverage distributing company and Rios is a sophomore at Northwestern State University where she has played in 27 matches during her first 2 seasons.  Rios was also a member of the Mexican National Team during her junior and senior year of high school.

McCabe and Rios were big parts of the program, helping the program to 6 State Championship appearances, big wins over Ursuline, Southlake Carroll, California High, Cal South La Sal, Colleyville Heritage, and a tie to the #1 team in the country, St. Thomas Aquinas from Florida.  They also helped the Lady Vikings gain national respect as they were ranked as high as #8 in the country by ESPNHS.

McCabe visited last week and spoke with the players on how Nolan Catholic and the Women's Soccer Program helped her get were she is today.  The young LVS Program of 9 freshman and 18 sophomores listened closely to the succesful alum.

Rios visited this week and was a welcome sight to the players, as some of them had to opportunity to play with her during her time here at Nolan Catholic.

The Nolan Catholic Women's Soccer Alumni Match is scheduled for Saturday, January 5th at 11:00am at Doskocil Stadium on the campus of Nolan Catholic High School.  The men will follow at 1:00pm.
