Red Bull Nolan Showcase Starts Thursday

Lone State Stars
The Nolan Showcase began as a Texas event. As the tournament expanded, so did its magnitude. While this year's version might not include as many out-of-state teams, it's still heavy on talent. MORE

Lady Vikings Clinch a District Championship Dispite their First Defeat

Congrats to the Lady Vikings as they clinch a district championship for only the 2nd time in the last decade. They didn't feel like celebrating as they dropped their first lose to district opponent 3-2, who they defeated earlier in the year 2-0. Senior, Sarah Williamson scored the first goal to put the Lady Vikings ahead as Nolan continued to create quality opportunities and with 20 seconds to go in the half junior, GK McKenzie Sauerwein got called for a penalty kick and the Lady Cardinals evened the score. John Paul II went on to score 2 more goals before lone freshman, Presley Smith got the Lady Vikings within a goal. Then right after that the Lady Vikings scored again but the goal was disallowed. Continuous pressure was put on the John Paul II back-line and GK but to no avail as the Lady Vikings dropped their first match of the year.
