Streak broken; Return Home Tonight

On Monday night the Lady Vikings traveled to Bishop Lynch High School playing to a regulation 1-1 draw before dropping only their 5th match of the year in the opening minute of extra time.  This breaks their 15 game unbeaten streak.

A pair of PKs got the score to 1-1 before the end of regulation.  Allee Kimmey stepped up to equalize midway through the first half.

The Lady Vikings continue to put on good pressure throughout the remainder of the game but were unable to get the go ahead goal.  Head coach, Jay Fitzgerald was proud of the way his team performed.  "Soccer is a cruel game but we got better tonight," said Fitzgerald.

The JV had to fight back after going down a goal and moments before halftime, Rachel Emrich evened the score at 1 going into halftime.  This was the second match in as many games that the Lady Vikings have scored in the last minute of the first half.

The JV improves to 4-4-2 in 2018 and sit in 4th place in the district, holding the last spot to qualify for the post-season.

Next up for the Lady Vikings is TONIGHT as they host John Paul II with the JV kicking off at 5:00pm and the varsity following at 6:45pm.  The varsity match will again be broadcast LIVE on #lvsLIVE presented by @NCHSmedia.  CLICK HERE to see the Lady Vikings LIVE.
