LVS notches another district win; NEPS starts on Thursday

Sophomore, forward Megan Bettinger scored her 8th, 9th, and 10th goal of the season tonight on the road against John Paul while Emily Keoghan and Hannah Allred each added their 6th goals of the season.

"We scored some very nice goals tonight," said LVS head coach Jay Fitzgerald.

John Paul would not go away but the Lady Vikings had an answer each time the Lady Cardinals got themselves back in the game.  Fitzgerald added, "We responded very well and did what we needed to do with our moments but we do have to clean up some areas of our game to get where we want to be in the end."

The Lady Vikings fired away 13 shots on goal and put a lot of pressure on John Paul all evening.

John Paul's, Lina Cruz scored the first 2 goals and Jennifer Dalglish scored the 3rd.

Keoghan was happy with the way the Lady Vikings played and likes their chances going into the National Elite Prep Showcase starting on Thursday against the #3 team in the country, Plano West.
The Lady Vikings improve to 9-3 on the season and 6-2 in district play while the Lady Cardinals drop to 4-2 in district.

After taking on Plano West on Thursday, the Lady Vikings meet up with Colleyville Heritage, SA Central, and Monteverde Academy from Florida.  For more information on the NEPS event visit www.nationaleliteprepshowcase.blogspot.com or get onto Twitter, Instagram, or Periscope @nepShowcase.
