LVS making a difference off the field

The Lady Vikings Soccer Program headed down to West, Texas to promote goal setting, giving a helping hand, and dreaming big.  Two communities coming together...  Soccer is a sport that brings people together.  It is a sport where the aspects of teamwork, communication, and problem solving can be used off the field as well.

"The town of West has gone through a lot in the past year and these kids were just wonderful, respectful, tons of energy, and STRONG," said head coach, Jay Fitzgerald.

Fitzgerald added, "It shows how well these kids are being raised and it is great to see smiles.  We can't wait to come back."

The Lady Vikings Soccer program covered a lot of miles yesterday.  After traveling to West, they took their journey to West Fort Worth and decided to square off against each other at the Fun on the Run Park.  Hearing things like, "surrender", "that's gonna leave a mark", "get down", and "go, go, go, go" was definitely  encouraging unless you were part of Team 1, who spent most of their time in the deadzone.

It didn't stop there for the Lady Vikes, as they took to the world's largest haunted house, the Cutting Edge and then back to Nolan to catch the end of the Vikings Football game.

What a day for the Lady Vikings... a special day for the kids of West and a special day for the ladies of Nolan Catholic.  With the image of kids smiling faces and the resemblance of paint, sweat, dirt, blood, some whelps, dust, foam, and a little bit of Taco Bell.. it was a complete and fulfilling day.
