Jay Fitzgerald – Nolan
Catholic Women’s Soccer Varsity Head Coach (21st Year)
Jay just completed his 20th year as
Head Coach for the Women’s Varsity Soccer Team at Nolan Catholic High School
coaching over 500 games for the Lady Vikings.
He also serves as Director of Soccer for the Men’s and Women’s Soccer
Programs. Jay won his 300th game 2
seasons ago with a career record of 338-128-41, all at Nolan Catholic. He has taken his teams to the State Final
Four 14 out of the past 16 years – 3 District Championships, 16 Regional
Championships, and 11 State Runner-Up finishes.
The Women’s team has advanced to a record 33rd TAPPS State Final Four
gaining National recognition ever since 1999.
The Lady Vikings have been National Ranked every year since 1999. ESPN has had the Lady Vikings as high as #3
in the Nation in 1999.
Jay is a USSF 'A' License Coach on staff
with US Soccer working in the Market Training Centers identifying top female players
in the area in consideration for youth national teams and also involved with the US Soccer national team program on staff
with the U15 and U19 Men’s National Teams. He
helped the U21 Women’s National Team to a Nordic Cup Championship over Norway
in 2005.
Jay is one of the founders of
JATO Athletics, an outsourced athletic department and resource dedicated to
advancing athletics throughout the country.
He had an outstanding playing career in college and professionally. He
played at Creighton University from 1991-1995. He played professionally with
the Dallas Burn from 1996-1997, with the Sacramento Scorpions (A-League) in
1997, and with the Texas Spurs of PDL in 1998. Additionally he played with the
U23 National Team for the Olympic Festival in 1996. He graduated with a B.S. in Exercise Science from Creighton
University. Jay graduated high school
from The Oakridge School in Arlington.
Todd Fitzgerald – Nolan
Catholic Women’s Soccer Varsity Associate (21st Year)
Todd is assisting his brother
Jay for the 21st year where his main role will be video & match
analysis. He was the varsity head coach
in 2011-2012 and holds an overall record of 20-8-7 with a Regional championship
and Final Four appearance during that season.
He is an Oakridge School graduate where he was a four year varsity
starter on the soccer, football, and tennis teams. He played club soccer in the Dallas Classic
League for the Dallas Comets. Upon
graduation from Oakridge, he attended and played football at TCU. He was a four-year letter winner for the
Horned Frogs as well as, Southwest Conference and Independence Bowl Champion
highlighted by an upset victory over Top 25 North Carolina. Todd continued his football career while
attaining his Master’s Degree at Abilene Christian University. After college,
he played indoor football with the Texas Terminators in Austin, the Shreveport
Bombers, and soccer with the Dallas Comets. He was also offered a try-out with
the Dallas Cowboys. Todd and Jay are currently managing partners in JATO
Athletics and Todd is the CEO for Roxo Energy in downtown Fort Worth.
